Traveling in Turkey with our 4 kids (well, young adults)… Istanbul, Cappadocia, Kusadasi, Ephesus, Fethiye. Awe-inspiring historical sites, stunning ruins, magnificent scenery and daring food tasting provided ample opportunities for sketching and painting. We were lucky enough to recently spend the weekend at the beautiful Lotus Feed Yoga Center on a Yol Trip. We ate like royalty, relaxed, practiced yoga and engaged in a service project with Forget Me Not Farm in Santa Rosa. It was very special weekend.
It’s that time of the year! The Santa Cruz American Music Festival has returned to Aptos, and so have we. Dan spent the day listening to great music and painting Carolyn Wonderland, Robert Randolf and The Family Band, Trombone Shorty, and Buddy Guy!
We had the honor of being invited on a weekend adventure to celebrate our dear friend Suzanne’s 50th birthday. Dan captured some of the best highlights in this one page montage he created during the weekend.
Out paddleboarding on a Saturday morning we had an amazing wildlife tour and fear test! We had close encounters with a humpback whale, dolphins, a family of otters and had to cross the Sooty Shearwater highway (think Alfred Hitchcock!). Dan was inspired to sketch this drawing on his napkin at breakfast.
The adventure started Friday… San Francisco to London, then a van to the little village of Aston where the bike riding began.

We love live music, and Dan loves drawing musicians! We were at the Santa Cruz American Music Festival over Memorial Day and he painted Los Lonely Boys while they performed. Lucky for us, we got to meet them afterwards and get his painting autographed!
